Initial Foot Exam and Treatment
You are a new patient, perhaps you have been referred by your health practitioner or you are seeking answers on your own - either way we can help. Book an Initial Examination and Chris will complete an exam to determine if you need an orthotic or if another treatment approach might be more appropriate. Please wear clothing that allows us to see the area we are examining, such as a pair of shorts.

Orthotic Dispensing
Hooray! You have been notified that your orthotics are ready to be dispensed. For this appointment you will need to bring the shoes you plan to wear the orthotics in.

Orthotic Check
We recommend that your orthotics are checked annually. Over time the orthotic will wear and minor repairs or alterations may be needed. Often the soft top cover of the orthotic will compact and wear and can be replaced in our local Nanaimo orthotic lab quickly and with minimal cost.
Just moved to town and have a pair of orthotics from somewhere else? No problem, and welcome to the neighborhood. We are always happy to help with repairs or modifications.
Diabetic Foot Examination
Changes in the Diabetic Foot can be serious and happen quickly. For this reason all diabetics should be screened regularly for foot related complications.
Chris Anderson is trained in Amputation Prevention and Comprehensive Management of the Neuropathic/Diabetic Foot.

Bracing
Have you been referred by your Health Practitioner to get fitted with a brace? Wondering if a brace will assist with the management of your injury?
We fit custom made, customized and off the shelf braces for the knee, ankle, wrist, and elbow. From Osteoarthritis unloaders to Ritchie Braces for Acquired Adult Flatfoot we can source and fit the right brace for you.
Custom Shoes and Shoe Modifications
We can source a wide variety of specialty footwear for your specific needs.
We cast and measure for fully custom shoes.
We perform modifications in our local Nanaimo orthotic facility to stock footwear such as lifts for unequal leg lengths, rocker soles, excavations and sole flares.
Insurance & Direct Billing
Orthotics & Braces
Please be aware that regular insurance plans do not allow direct billing for orthotics and braces. Payment must be made in full prior to you submitting the claim. We will provide the necessary paperwork required by your insurance provider at the time of your no charge orthotic dispensing appointment. Most insurers require a prescription- we can request this for you from your healthcare practitioner. If we do not receive one back, it is ultimately up to the patient to obtain a prescription.
The exceptions: If applicable, we can direct bill orthotic costs to First Nations Health Authority, RCMP, Veteran's Affairs, Social Services, ICBC.
We are part of the WorkSafeBC provider network.
